"Between the pension insurance companies and the banking institutions, there is an established strategic partnership through which they offer complex financial solutions and services to their clients", said Daniela Petkova, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of PAC Doverie, in her address to the participants of the 30-th edition of the "Bank of the Year" awards. She presented the award to the winner in the "Dynamics of Development" category - PostBank.

The ceremony at which the winners of the prestigious "Bank of the Year" awards were announced was held on 07/06/2022 at the Millennium Hotel, Sofia. The organizer of the event, of which PAC Doverie is a traditional partner, is Association Bank of the Year.

Postbank became the big winner in the competition, as, in addition to the award in the "Dynamics of Development" category, it became the winner of the Grand Prize "Bank of the Year" for 2021. The statuette with the distinction was presented to Petya Dimitrova, Chairperson of the Management Board of PostBank, by Rumen Radev, President of the Republic of Bulgaria. He stated that the banking sector sets the direction of development of the Bulgarian economy and can meet the high national ambitions, including innovative technologies.

UniCredit Bulbank and United Bulgarian Bank won the prizes in the other two main categories - "Market share" and "Efficiency". The special award for a foreign bank branch went to BNP Paribas - Bulgaria branch.

This year, for the first time, an award was presented for successful digital transformation, which was won by First Investment Bank, and for the best active digital project, where DSK Bank was awarded.

The “Bank of the Year” awards were established and presented for the first time in 1992, marking their 30th anniversary this year. Over the years, some of the best experts and professionals in the financial and banking business participated in the development of the methodology for evaluating the results of the banks, and the experience of the best international practices was used in the evaluation of the annual results of the banks.

The methodology uses the annual results of the banks, officially presented and published by the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB), as well as the audited reports of the financial institutions.
