Daniela Petkova - Chairperson of the Board of Directors of PAC Doverie" received "Mr. Economics" award for her contribution to the development of the non-banking financial sector in Bulgaria
On 28.11.2012, at the National History Museum, were given the traditional awards of the Economics magazine for contribution to the development of the economy - "Mr. and Mrs. Economics". Daniela Petkova, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of PAC Doverie, was awarded with the prize "For Contribution to the Development of the Non-Banking Financial Sector" for 2012.
In the other categories, the following received awards: "For contribution to the development of the industry" - Nikola Trean, Executive director of the copper mining plant in Pirdop "Aurubis Bulgaria"; Ivan Angelov, General Manager of "Gradus", "For contribution to the development of the agricultural sector"; Petya Dimitrova, Executive director of "Postbank" - "For contribution to the development of the banking sector"; Assen Yagodin, Executive director of "Bulgarian Development Bank" AD - "For contribution to the development of small-size and medium-size business". The winner in the category "For Contribution to the Development of Tourism" was Vetko Arabadzhiev, owner of Victoria Group, and "For Contribution to the Development of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT)" was awarded to Ognyan Trayanov, Executive director of TechnoLogica.
The 33-member jury, composed of experts in the field of finance and economics, awarded the prize "Mr. Economics" to Nikolay Valkanov, General Director of Minstroy Holding AD, and for "Mrs. Economics", the award went to Elsa Markova, Executive director of Bella Bulgaria. The main criteria by which the winners in all categories were judged were the number of jobs provided, the investments made, the profit tax paid to the treasury, and the socially responsible initiatives of the companies.
The Mr. Economics award has been presented since 1990 and, and the news this year is that for the first time, a big award was also presented for Mrs. Economics. Also new are the three special awards that were given - for "Financially Responsible Company" to Stoyan Tsvetanov, Executive director of Sofia Heat Supply Company; Turkish Airlines Inc., which was named "Special Business Partner" for the flights it opened to over 20 new destinations in 2012. The Mayor of Stara Zagora, Zhivko Todorov, received the third special award of the competition. He was awarded the prize for the 160 million leva worth of EU projects his team has won, which Stara Zagora Municipality has invested in improving the business environment in the region and opening new jobs.
