Daniela Petkova, Chairperson of the Management Board of PAC Doverie, received the honorary sign of Popovo Municipality
Traditionally, on June 10, when the town of Popovo celebrates its holiday, a solemn session of the Municipal Council is held, where the deserving and honorary citizens of Popovo are distinguished and awarded. This year, among those awarded with the honorary sign of the town is Daniela Petkova, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of PAC Doverie.
The sign was presented to her by the Mayor of the Municipality, Dr Lyudmil Veselinov, marking the many years of cooperation and support that Mrs. Petkova and the Company she manages, provide for nationally significant events organized by the Municipality of Popovo.
The others, awarded with a badge of honour are Nadka Valkova – for active social and charitable activity; Assoc. Prof. Dr Oleg Aleksandrov – for services in the field of archaeological studies and research work of the Late Roman Fortress Kovachevsko kale; Eng. Grigor Gogov - for services in the field of forestry, its preservation and development in the region and the country. For an investor of the year Popovo Municipality's badge of honour was awarded to Mebel - Style Ltd. Traditionally, at the solemn session dedicated to the holiday of Popovo, are awarded the graduates of secondary schools who won prizes in national Olympiads and competitions in the 2017/2018 school year.
This year, during the event, two new winners of the title "Honorary Citizen of Popovo" were also awarded. It was awarded to Eng. Todor Nenov Todorov - for his many years of public service in the town and municipality of Popovo and Prof. Todor Dimitrov - for his merits and achievements in his long scientific and activities and activities for the public benefit.
June 10 has been the official holiday of Popovo since December 29, 1998. It marks the date on which, by princely decree No. 426, in 1883, the village was declared a town or "town Popovo", as it is written in the document from 135 years ago, signed by Prince Alexander Battenberg, at the suggestion of Nestor Markov - Minister of Internal Affairs in the government of Leonid Sobolev.
