Doverie opens a new Internet club for young people in Antonovo
On 17 January 2011, St. Anthony's Day and a holyday of the town of Antonovo, Daniela Petkova, CEO of PAC Doverie and Taner Ali, Mayor of the town, will open a new internet club in the town. The club is designed for the students and young people in Antonovo and is part of Doverie's project - "Free internet access in small towns and villages".
The project is implemented in partnership with the municipal and local mayors of small towns and villages. Municipalities provide room for the construction of clubs and the company organizes and provides financing for the renovation of the premises, donates furniture, computers with licensed software, and undertakes the current cost of the Internet connection. The access to the global network is completely free for the residents of the town/village.
Through the realization of that project PAC Doverie aims to help solving an important social problem connected with the degree of penetration of Internet in smaller settlements in Bulgaria - a trend in which our country ranks among the last in Europe.
The project will be implemented in two stages. The pilot phase will run until March 2011 and will include building partnerships and opening internet clubs in 11 small towns across the country in order to test the adopted model. Within the period March - December 2011 the scope of the project will be extended and may reach to the residents of several dozens of towns all over the country.
The internet club in the town of Antonovo is located at the following address: 15 Arso Ovcharov Street, in the youth club of the town and is the second club opened under the project after that in the town of Trustenik. New internet clubs are to be opened soon in the villages of Strumyani, Blagoevgrad area, Novo Selo - Vidin area, the village of Harlets, Kozloduy Municipality, etc.
