Employees of PAC Doverie improved Kaylaka Park in Pleven

Employees of the Pension Assurance Company Doverie improved part of the Kaylaka Park in the city of Pleven.

The team of the Regional Directorate "Northwestern Bulgaria" chose as its cause this year the cleaning of the beautiful area, which is a favorite place for walking and recreation among the residents and guests of the city.

Within the framework of their "Socially Active Day", the employees of PAC Doverie donated and installed two stone tennis tables in order to encourage outdoor sports. In addition, they varnished dozens of benches and improved the area, collecting fallen branches and overgrown vegetation.

The initiative, which was held under the motto: "Kindness is the only investment that never fails", is part of the corporate social responsibility policy of PAC Doverie and was held with the support of the "I am Kaylaka" Foundation, founded by the famous singer and resident of Pleven - Lucy Dyakovska.

Kaylaka Park is famous for its rich history and diverse flora and fauna. The natural canyon of the river is home to rich and diverse flora and fauna, where unique plants for our country and the Balkan Peninsula can be found, and many of the birds and mammals are included in the Red Book of Bulgaria. Millions of years ago, prehistoric animals lived in these places, and fossils of ancient aquatic organisms are still visible in most of the limestone rock masses.

In the central part of the park grow the rare Himalayan pines in Bulgaria. Further inland, a small grove of evergreen Lebanese cedar is planted, and huge chestnuts grow on both sides of the central alley.

The name of the park "Kaylaka" is of Turkish origin, but it is a translation of the older Bulgarian name - Kamenets or Kamenna Dolina.

Here are also the remains of the late antique fortress Storgozia, which was probably created on the site of an older Thracian settlement.

The summer theater in Kaylaka was opened by the first man to fly into space, Yuri Gagarin, during his visit to the city.

On the territory of the park is the only Wine Museum of its kind in Bulgaria.
