Employees of PAC Doverie renovated the center of the village of Staro Zhelezare

Employees of the Pension Assurance Company Doverie from the Plovdiv 2 Sales Team helped to refresh the center of the picturesque village of Staro Zhelezare, which gained worldwide fame for its unique street art, which turned it into a kind of open-air museum.

The initiative is part of our corporate social responsibility and the traditions of our majority shareholder Vienna Insurance Group, in the spirit of which we donate gratuitous labor for the benefit of society. 

In the last campaign for this year, our team painted the benches in the center of the village, planted trees and flowers, which helped to make the area even more welcoming and beautiful.

The mayor and the locals thanked the employees for their dedicated work, treating them with freshly baked breads and pies.

Staro Zhelezare is a center of attraction for many tourists and artists from different countries who come here to enjoy the wonderful graffiti and drawings depicting celebrities on the houses and fences. 

The area is also known for its rich history. Very nearby are the remains of Cholakova Mogila, a megalithic facility made of broken stone blocks in a circle. Archaeologists suggest that this is an ancient astronomical observatory more than 2600 years old, which was used by the Thracians to observe the movement of the sun.

In 2024, PAC Doverie, which celebrates its 30th anniversary, is organizing a large-scale campaign to clean, improve and support local communities throughout Bulgaria.

Since the beginning of October, 11 locations in different regions have been improved, and more than 220 employees have joined the activity. More than 10 square kilometers were cleared, hundreds of kilograms of garbage and more than 3 tons of wood and shrubs were collected.
