New Horizons programme in Smolyan

On 23.03.2006 the representatives of the local authorities and the Association of the Rhodope Municipalities had the opportunity to get acquainted with the opportunities provided by the pension funds for financing local projects.

Traditionally, this edition of "New Horizons" program is organized jointly with TBI Asset Management, and for the first time another of TBI Bulgaria's companies - TBI Zdrave, which offers its clients additional health insurance, took part in the event. In her presentation Daniela Petkova presented the increased opportunities for pension funds to finance good projects, conditioned by the increase in the volume of the managed assets and the changes in the regulations, which increased the permissible share of pension fund assets that can be invested in municipal bonds from 10 up to 15%.

Another focus of the presentation and subsequent discussion was outlining the nature of the pension reform, the need for more information on the issue, and the role of municipal and local government in the process of providing it.
