PAC Doverie was a partner of the "World in 2023" forum

PAC Doverie was one of the partners of the "World in 2023" forum, which is organized by The Economist magazine. The event took place on 06.02.2023, in Sofia, as the host of the event this year was Grand Hotel Millennium Sofia.

Within this year's edition, the analysis of politicians, businessmen and scientists for the development of the world, the region and Bulgaria for 2023 were presented. The emphasis was placed on the difficulties caused by the war in Ukraine, inflation, post-covid challenges and the complex and multifactorial crises that we accompanied in recent years, their reflection and perspective for successful resolution.

Among the topics discussed were those related to the construction of sustainable business models, to the development and deepening of the processes of digitization and transition to a green economy, to the partnership and connectivity between partners in the EU, NATO and the Balkans, to improve the quality of life, security and Bulgaria's successful path towards the adoption of the euro as an official currency and its entry into the Schengen area.

The World in 2023 was founded and hosted by Joan Hoey, director of the World Democracy Index at The Economist Group. With short presentations and answers to questions, the following participated: Rumen Radev, President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Galab Donev, Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria, Professor Christopher Pisaridis, winner of the 2010 Nobel Prize in Economics, professor in London School of Economics and Political Science, Liliana Pavlova, Vice President of the European Investment Bank, Prof. Dr. Nikolay Gabrovski, Chairman of the Bulgarian Society of Neurosurgery, Petya Dimitrova, Chairman of the Board of Post Bank, Tim Kurth, Executive Director of Aurubis Bulgaria and etc.

Especially for the event, a video address was given by Helena Dalli, European Commissioner for Equality, and the participants were challenged to answer curious questions and make their own predictions for the development of the world, the region and Bulgaria in 2023.

The "World in 2023" forum is being held for the third time in the country, and the level and interest of the participants in it shows good prospects for its confirmation in the calendar of significant and expected events in the sphere of economy and social development in Bulgaria.
