PAC Doverie with the Bulgarian mathematicians on the All-Russian Olympiad in mathematics
On April 14, 2009 a joint press conference was held by the National team in mathematics and PAC Doverie. Prof. Stefan Dodunekov, President of the Union of Bulgarian Mathematicians and Mrs. Daniela Petkova, CEO and Chairperson of the Board of Directors of PAC Doverie presented the members of the National Team that will represent Bulgaria in the All-Russian Olympiad in mathematics. This year the competition will take place in the town of Kislovodsk, from April 21st to April 27th.
PAC Doverie is a general sponsor of the participation of the Bulgarian team in the All-Russian Olympiad. The Company has prepared for the children an award of BGN 3,000 which will be distributed between the winners in the Olympiad in the form of separate prizes. BGN 1,500 will be divided among the gold medal winners; BGN 900 will be provided for the winners of silver medals and the bronze medal winners will receive a total of BGN 600. Besides, the Company has provided to the National Team the amount of BGN 12,000 to cover the travel and all other expenses necessary for the children's stay in Russia.
The Bulgarian mathematicians are: Lyuboslav Panchev - 11th grade, Sofia High School of Mathematics, Svetozar Stankov - 12th grade, Sofia High School of Mathematics, Alexander Makelov - 11th grade, Bourgas High School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Galin Statev - 12th grade, National High School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Sofia, Svetoslav Karaivanov - National High School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Sofia and Rafael Rafailov - 9th grade, Sofia High School of Mathematics. The young talents of Bulgaria will compete with about 50 teams from all over Russia and with the China mathematical team.
The participation of the Bulgarian Olympic team in the All-Russian Olympiad is part from the preparation of the students for the forthcoming International Mathematical Olympiad that will take place in July this year in the town of Bremen, Germany.
