Bulgarian cinema legend Vasil Mikhailov receives the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Golden Eye Cinematography Festival

The actor Vasil Mihaylov and the cinematographer Konstantin Zankov received an award for lifetime achievement at the VIII National Festival of Cinematography "The Golden Eye", which was held with the support of PAC Doverie in the period 25 - 28 May this year in the House of Culture in Popovo. The forum has been held since 1998 in memory of the cinematographer Dimo Kolarov (1924 - 1997) who was born in Popovo.

 
This year the competition programme included 28 films divided into three categories - feature films, documentaries and student films. The jury was composed of Prof. Ivan Nichev, Associate Prof. Tsvetan Nedkov, Hristo Kovachev, Katya Lambrinova and Ilka Zafirova. Among the feature films were shown "While Aya slept", "Corpse Collector", "The Prosecutor, the Defense Attorney, the Father and his Son", "Thirst", "Shooting Star". In the Documentaries category, “Dimitar Shishmanov: For Reflection", "Through Tears" and "Circles of Light" invoked interest.
