PAC Doverie supported the exhibition "Gold and Bronze. Metals, Technologies and Contacts in the Eastern Balkans in the Bronze Age" at the National Archaeological Museum.
The unique exhibition "Gold and Bronze. Metals, Technologies and Contacts in the Eastern Balkans during the Bronze Age" was opened at the National Archaeological Museum. It is devoted to metals and resources in the Bronze Age, in the eastern parts of the Balkan Peninsula. The exhibition is a continuation of the one presented in May 2017, at the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna, "The First Gold. Ada Tepe: Europe's oldest gold mine" and is dedicated to the Bulgarian and Austrian presidencies of the Council of the European Union in 2018.
The big cultural event presents precious metal finds such as the treasures from Valchitran and Burzitsa, gold, bronze and ceramic objects from the necropolis at Dubene, the collective finds from Yankovo and Zdravets, etc.
Some of the exhibits are a testimony to technical achievements, cultural exchange and long-distance trade, represented by the collective finds from Pobit Kamak and Mogilitsa. They include numerous stone moulds for casting a variety of bronze objects - weapons, sceptres, tools, ornaments.
The exhibition has four main accents - the study of ceramics, the study of architecture and stratigraphy, and the chronology and analysis of gold and other metals. It will be open for visitors from October 25, 2017 to January 28, 2018. The cultural event is supported by PAC Doverie.
