The name of a great make-up artist stands under a Bulgarian advertisement

For the filming of the TV video of PAC Doverie - the first Bulgarian client that Jose Antonio Sanchez trusted, the make-up artist's task was to "overcome" with his artistic skill first 20 and then another 30 years in two shots of a few seconds with a single actor. Indeed, in just an instant, the character of "Doverie" is simultaneously 35, 55 and 75 years old. José Antonio Sánchez doesn't divulge how he achieved this, but the result can be seen by all in November.

The creative for the overall ad campaign, which tells the story of how the years of our lives pass through time, is by New Moment New Ideas. The ad was directed by Alejandro Toledo from the Bulgarian branch of the Spanish production house MVM. One of the latest commercials shot by Alejandro is starring Antonio Banderas and will soon come in Europe.

José Antonio Sánchez is coming to Bulgaria for the first time.

Jose's first task back in 1957 was to make up Frank Sinatra. Thus began his career as a make-up artist with 4 Goya Awards and dozens of nominations at the most prestigious film festivals. He has worked for worldwide film productions, most of them true myths of the film industry, in Bulgaria he has shot Bulgarian commercials. Again, for the first time. The commercial is a TV commercial, realized for PAC Doverie by New Moment New Ideas agency. It will run as part of a comprehensive campaign until the end of October, explaining the principles and showing the advantages of the Supplementary Voluntary Pension insurance.

José Antonio Sánchez was born in 1940 in Spain. The first production in which he started as his father's assistant make-up artist was the 1957 film Pride and Passion, directed by Stanley Kramer. For the film, José made up Frank Sinatra himself, and the other actors included Cary Grant and Sophia Loren.

Between 1970 and 1980, José Antonio Sánchez was the make-up artist for the fairy tale and adventure films The Three Musketeers, Sinbad's Golden Voyage, The Three Musketeers, The Four Musketeers, The Wind and the Lion, as well as Travels with My Aunt, based on Graham Greene's novel of the same name, and several Hollywood westerns. "The Three Musketeers" is another film that reunites José Antonio Sánchez with Richard Lester (the director of "Cuba" with Sean Connery, "Superman 2 and 3" and "The Approach...and How We're Gonna Get It" with which he won the Palme d'Or at Cannes in 1966).

José and Richard had already worked together in the 1967 film “How I Won the War” with John Lennon. José Antonio - extremely talkative and a great prankster - tells an interesting story from the filming of “How I Won the War”. In the 1960s, John Lennon was fascinated by Eastern religions and Indian culture. For the film, he returned from India with very long hair, which José had to cut because Lennon played a soldier in “How I Won the War”. Incidentally, again during the film, John Lennon also gets the iconic 20th century round-lens, wire-framed glasses. By this point, he was wearing contact lenses. And so the rumour of the clean-cut Lennon and his "loose" hair slips into the press. Hundreds of fetishists begin seeking a connection to José - touted in the press as the owner of the priceless trophy. One fine day he receives a blank check from Mrs Solomon, owner of a huge supermarket chain in the States. Apparently, she was inclined to value John Lennon's hair as priceless. Jose decided to take her up on the exclusive offer and left a message on her answering machine saying, "Two things-the name José Antonio Sánchez and the sum of $150 million". Of course, a return call immediately followed in which he finally admitted that he had no intention of selling anyone else's hair and-in fact, had long since thrown it away.

In 1982, name José Antonio Sánchez made up in the cult historical film Conan the Barbarian. It earned him a Saturn Award nomination from the American Academy of Science Fiction, Horror and Fantasy Films. In his biography, name José Antonio Sánchez has 4 Goya Award nominations and four Goya Award wins, the last one in 2004 for the film Mortadelo and Philemon: the Great Adventure. In various film productions, José has made-up Faye Dunaway, Raquel Welch, Gerard Depardieu, Dustin Hoffman, Fernando Rey, Sigourney Weaver, Armand Asante... During the filming with Faye Dunaway in "The Three Musketeers", José was the only person on set with whom the actress spoke. The director and cinematographer often ask him to mediate their communication with her. In '1492 - The Conquest of Paradise', José Antonio worked with director Ridley Scott ('Gladiator', 'Thelma and Louis', 'Kingdom of Heaven').
