Rumyana Sotirova

Dr. Rumyana Sotirova was born in Sofia and is a graduate from the 114th English language high school in Sofia. She graduated in International Economic Relations at the Higher Institute of Economics. Holds a doctor’s degree in Economics from the Russian Academy of Sciences. Holds degrees from The University of Arizona Professional Development Program in Business Management and Economics (1991-1992) and the Pew Economic Freedom Fellows Program at Georgetown University, School of Foreign Service (1993). 

Dr. Sotirova's professional career sstarted at the Center for Foreign Trade and International Markets (research associate) and the Ministry of Trade (head of the Export Promotion Department). In 1997, she joined the team of ING Bank in Sofia as chief economist. After the start of the pension reform in Bulgaria and the introduction of the additional pension insurance, Dr. Sotirova focused her professional efforts on the development and validation of the capital pension model in Bulgaria. 

In 2001, she became Head of Corporate Sales Department at ING Pension Insurance Company. From 2002 to September 2009, she was the executive director of ING Pension Insurance Company, responsible for the sales department. From 2010 to 2022, was executive director of the Pension Insurance Company DSK-Rodina in charge of sales and distribution channels. During this period, the most active banking channel for sales of pension products was developed. 

Since October 2023, Dr. Sotirova joined PAC Doverie as head of the Pension products external sales channels management Department.
