Supervisory Board
  • Peter Höfinger - Chairperson

    He studied law at the University of Vienna and specialised in EU competition law at the University of Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium).
    He has been a member of the VIG Holding Managing Board since 1 January 2009 and since July 2023 has also been Deputy CEO of VIG.

    From 2003 to 2008 he was part of the MB of Donau Versicherung. Prior to that, he held positions as MB chairman and MB member outside the VIG in Hungary, the Czech Republic and Poland.

    In 2018, he was awarded the Doctor honoris causa (Dr.h.c) degree by the Academy of Economics D. А. Tsenov in Bulgaria for his contribution to the development of the insurance industry in Bulgaria. Married, with four children.

    At Vienna Insurance Group his areas of responsibility are the group’s Corporate business and the Reinsurance. His country responsibilities include Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania and Serbia.

  • Gerald Weber

    He graduated from the “Karl Francens Universität” in Graz, specialty Business Economy. At present he is Managing Director of ‘‘VIG Real Estate’’ GmbH (Austria) and ‘’VIG-CZ Real Estate’’ GmbH (Austria) and Procurator of ‘’Vienna Insurance Group AG Wiener Versicherung Gruppe’’ (Austria).

  • Georgina Baker - Independent Member of the Supervisory Board

    Born and graduated in the UK. Holds a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Kingston University and a Master degree in Business Administration from London Business School.
    Worked with the INTERNATIONAL FINANCE CORPORATION (IFC) between 1991 and 2021, holding different positions, among them: Investment Officer/Senior Investment Officer; Manager Financial Institutions; Director Global Trade Finance; Regional Vice President Latin America and the Caribbean, Europe and Central Asia and Member of the Executive Committee.

  • Miroslav Stoyanov - Independent Member of the Supervisory Board

    General Manager of the Small Business Support Programme of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. He holds a BSc in Corporate Finance from the University of National and World Economy and an EMBA from Ashridge Business School, London.

    In the EBRD programme, he is responsible for managing the relationship with all stakeholders (government, local and international associations, chambers and clusters, media, local SMEs and consultants, etc.), organises and oversees all consultancy projects, and is responsible for promoting the programme and ensuring that it delivers real value through each project.
